| Battery Gassing In order for a lead
acid battery to obtain a full charge, the ion cloud at the end of the electrodes must be
dissolved. Otherwise a build-up on the plates will reduce the batteries performance. This
condition is commonly known as gassing. During this period of time the ions are forced
into motion, the condition is a normal battery occurrence in conjunction with standard
charging methods, or forced air may also be introduced into the battery cells. |
