Energy Regeneration

The principal behind energy regeneration used in electric vehicles is to change the function of the drive motor to a generator when the velocity is reduced. The same principal is applied to the lift - when lowering the lift motor is allowed to operate as a generator creating electricity and charging the battery.

This electrical system shows a number of advantages:

  • longer shift or multiple shift operation on a single charge
  • wear reduction on mechanical brake components - regeneration motor braking
  • lower energy consumption and associated charging costs
