The MAK-Values are rules and regulations in Europe for the maximal allowable presence of gases, steam and dust particles at the work place. The values must be adhered to by law to protect the health of the employers. 

These rules and regulations are especially important for the Material Handling Industry when fork lift trucks with IC engines are used in indoor operations.
