Soot Filter

Exhaust Filter in fork lift trucks reduce the damaging and smelly exhausts of IC-Engines into the atmosphere. The main purpose of the filters is to remove the poisonous carbon-monoxide and the soot.

If the fork lift truck is equipped with a diesel engine, a special Wet Exhaust Filter is used. The exhaust gases have to pass a water bath first which reduces the odor and filters the soot. In the next stage the remaining mixture will pass into  an after burner. At a certain temperature in the after burner, the unwanted exhaust particles are further reduced by oxidation.
